Todos Santos, MX Where adventure, spirituality, history and surf all come together

Whale watching & diving boat trip in Todos Santos

I LOVE this town so so much. While its not my favorite for surfing, its my favorite for pretty much everything else.

If you’re looking for the perfect mix of adventure, spirituality, and coastal vibes, Todos Santos, Mexico, is your go-to spot. It’s a quick flight from Nashville (now we can go direct!!) And life is pretty simple once you get there!

This charming little town on the Baja Peninsula is famous for its laid-back atmosphere, surf, vibrant art scene, and deep-rooted spiritual energy. Whether you’re craving a trip packed with adventure or a moment of peace, Todos Santos offers plenty of experiences that will leave you feeling refreshed, inspired, and connected to nature.

Here are a few things we always do when we’re in town!

1. Hike to Punta Lobos

Want to experience Todos Santos' rugged beauty? Take a hike to Punta Lobos. It’s an easy, scenic trek that’ll have you walking through desert landscapes, past cacti, and right up to the edge of the Pacific. The spot is perfect for spotting sea lions and, if you’re lucky, whales (during the season). The journey is peaceful, grounding, and totally Insta-worthy.

2. Catch Waves or Chill at Playa Cerritos

Playa Cerritos is a fun (and busy) little surf spot — whether you're an experienced surfer or a total newbie, this beach does have consistent waves year-round and warm, inviting waters. Whether you’re booking a lesson with a local surf school or just renting a board to do your thing, Playa Cerritos is the perfect place to snag a few waves and soak in the culture. Even though you can usually find a friendly wave here, it can get big, so be mindful!

3. Visit the Todos Santos Mission

Definitely stroll through the Mission of Nuestra Señora del Pilar de Todos Santos. This historic church, founded back in 1723, has a peaceful, meditative vibe and is just a really beautiful way to connect both with yourself, and the deep roots and culture in Todos Santos.

4. Experience a Temazcal Ceremony

If you know me, you know I loveeee a traditional lodge. While a sweat lodge can be challenging, it is (in my opinion) one of the deepest forms of spiritual devotion you can experience. That’s for a whole different blog post. But if you’re looking to go a little deeper within yourself and explore a new aspect of your wellness journey, treat yourself to a Temazcal ceremony. This traditional sweat lodge ceremony has been practiced in Mexico for centuries and is all about cleansing your body, mind, and spirit. It’s an intense experience, but in the best way — a chance to release toxins, let go of negative energy, and connect with the earth. Afterward, you’ll feel like a brand-new version of yourself.

5. Sunset at Punta del Todos Santos

Nothing beats a Todos Santos sunset. Head to Punta del Todos Santos for jaw-dropping views of the Pacific. It’s the perfect place to take a moment to breathe, reflect, or simply enjoy nature’s show as the sky turns from soft pinks to fiery oranges. The vibe here is quiet and magical — and you might even catch some whales if the season is right! It is a must-do at the end of any day. Bring your journal, a mocktail or glass of wine, a blanket and enjoy!

6. Ride Through the Desert on Horseback

Want to explore Baja’s desert landscape in a different way? Try horseback riding! Whether you’re trotting along the beach or wandering through the desert, riding is a beautiful way to connect with the land. Plus, you’ll get to soak up Todos Santos’ stunning scenery — it’s as if the world slows down a little when you're on horseback. Bring your go pro or iphone, maybe a carrot or two for the horses (if the cowboy says its ok) and be sure to thank the horses for their care <3

7. A day pass (or stay at) The San Cristobal

While I love this hotel, I do think there are more authentic places to stay in town (Paradero, Tibu, are some of my faves)

BUT definitley if you don’t stay at San Cristobal, do get a day pass and hang out there for the day. Their food is great and the pool with full ocean views is hard to beat.

8. Green Room Bar

I spent my 30th birthday here and it was a night I’ll never forget. You walk a dimmly lit, winding path to the beach where they set you up with a table, fire pit and amazing food / drinks right on the shore. Go at sunset so you can get the golden hour vibes and the night time vibes listening to the ocean, wrapped up in a blanket by the fire.

Todos Santos is the ultimate spot to balance adventure and soul-searching. From surfing and hiking to spiritual ceremonies and whale watching, it’s a place where you can unplug, reconnect, and find yourself — all while soaking in the beauty of Baja’s wild landscapes. It truly is one of my favorite places, and somewhere I can turn to when I need to remember what really matters in life and find my center.

If you go PLEASE send me your pics and tell me all about it so I can live vicariosuly through you!
